Ujamma Membership

UYFP membership is guided by the following cooperative principles:

1. Membership is open to all, without social, political, sexual orientation, or racial discrimination.

2. Democratic decision-making: one person-one vote.

3. Limited interest, if any, on capital placed with the house.

4. Savings and profits distributed equally, or placed for the further development of the co-op.

5. Constant education of members in co-op principles and methods of proper farming.

6. Cooperation with other pan african and progressive cooperatives.  

The additional purpose of UYFP is to create a cohesive pan african unity beyond and between the youth memberships and to provide a forum of sharing ideas on youth empowerment ideas.

UYFP principles & Core Values

1.Umoja- stand united towards our common goal. Men and women as equal partners in a Pan African world order.

2. Ujamma- Cooperative works to realize our shared development goals. Partnership between Capital contributors in the diaspora and farming experts on the continent.

3. Kujichagalia- Self determination and self sufficiency. Never again! Africans will be free and stay free! Strength through unity and cooperation will ensure we produce the necessities for life and prosperity.

4. Nia- Purpose. Personal commitment to excellence, pride in work and personal development to achieve our common goals.

5. Imani- Faith in the spirit of those who came before us and sacrificed to provide us with this opportunity, and faith in ourselves to achieve Maat.
